Hospitality industry adapts hotel service for women

August 22, 2008 By //  by admin

Hospitality Industry Archives, Hilton College/University of Houston - posted in New York Times

The New York Times reported earlier this month that some hotel chains have reinstated a policy of offering women only floors to accommodate the increase in women travelers. [1. Source: nytimes.com] Hotels like the Crown Plaza cater to women’s safety and offer amenities like a Victoria’s Secret robe, a blow dryer and vanity mirrors.  A turn toward femininity in business and lifestyles has increases during an Emotional High (2000-2009) Women only accommodation in hotels fell out of use in the 1980s during our last Emotional Low (1973- 1991).
