We the people of the United States hold a collective conscious. It is the thoughts, feelings and actions of all of us in a state of now, moving through time. Our triad of energies holds a Physical Cycle, an Emotional Cycle, and an Intellectual Cycle. They come from the body, heart, and the mind of a nation that has a life of its own. We undulate between strengths and weakness, hopes and fears, ideas and apathy with Rhythms that were set in motion since the beginning.

The Physical Cycle changes our production, territoriality, and strength. This affects what we build, our sense of materialism, the military, how we play sports, and our health and fitness. These rise and fall together.
The Emotional Cycle changes our sense of idealism, inspiration, and faith. A national mood is reflected in our styles, practice of religion, market speculation, entertainment and general outlook. They move in waves.
The Intellectual Cycle affects invention, learning and interests. Shifts come in government policies, court decisions, commerce, student performance, and technologies. They are all Cyclical. Together, these changing energies change our times. We are on the dawn of a new era, yet, we can identify the manifestations of energy and plot our course into the future. It is all in the Tao of Now.

Ka is ancient Egyptian for energy. Kala is Sanskrit for time. Kalarhythms are changes of energy through time. The Egyptians believed that Ka is the Physical, Spiritual and Intellectual parts of a person, or god, that
constitute an individuality. It transcends death of the body as living energy. Ancient Indian scriptures described Kala as transcendent time and as relative time which is Cyclical in nature. We live in relative time and all the Cycles within it. Kalarhythms are therefore changes in Physical, Spiritual and Intellectual energies through Cyclical time. This triad of energies that constitute an individuality is part of any person or living system. when they apply to a nation, they can be called Geo-Rhythms. In our case, they are basic elements of the United States. Change is part of any time. To see where we are in time is to know where we are in the Cycles of Change. Cycles tell us from where we come, where we are, and where we are going. That is the Tao of Now.

In the rising and falling tides of energy came the Three-Way Low of Cycles in the beginning of the 1990s. One by one, each Cycle crosses up into the High half
during this decade. First, our Emotional High came from the Emotional Upward Crossover in 1991 that ended the previous Emotional Low and a downward time of prosaic realism and reservation. Now an era of rising spirituality, greater expression and cohesive energy is defining our times. Most of the decade had a Physical Low but in a rising Cycle. This is raised the industrial sector from the recession of 1991/92 when the Cycle Troughed. An Upward Physical Crossover from Spring, 1999 to Spring, 2000 marks a new Cyclic High and that will give us greater economic strength. The Intellectual Cycle was low for the first half of the decade with short attention spans and limited creativity. An Upward Intellectual Crossover in 1995 brought a new awakening across America with an Intellectual High and growing awareness across the nation. The combination of these Cycles will produce a nation with a strong body, open heart, and clear mind, all at the same time, as we begin the twenty-first century. The most remarkable time in our history is beginning.

A Cycle goes through four stages that are the Seasons of a Cycle, as it progresses between Highs and Lows. It begins with a First Quarter where we lay Foundations for things to come as we begin anew. You can imagine the Tree of Life growing new limbs in the Spring. The Second Quarter with Improvements as we branch out in variations and expand to fruition. You can imagine the Tree of Life in full bloom in the Summer. A Third Quarter brings Review and reform to what we have done and retreat. You can imagine the tree of life loosing its leaves in the Autumn. Then, the Fourth Quarter comes with Alternatives as we abandon the past to simplify and search anew. You can imagine the Tree of Life loosing its dead wood in the Winter. This consistent pattern repeats as each Cycle revolves.

Physical, Emotional,, and Intellectual energies progress through their four seasons of development, and points of chaos, to bring change to the nation. A universal pattern is common to all Cycles of different durations. The combined effect is that they may be in different stages of development at any time with a myriad of possible combinations. This brings variety to our times. Once this simple pattern is understood, however, we can see through the complexity of our times to find simple truths. It becomes clear once you have the Rhythm, and you have the Rhythm when you have the math.

A Cycle goes through chaos when it crosses the midpoint. Whenever a Cycle switches from Low to High, or from High to Low, it passes through the point of transition (red dotted line) where it meets with turbulence. Every time a Cycle goes through a Crossover, we have chaos in the nation. A Physical Crossover may cause industrial recession, strikes or violence. Emotional Crossovers might come with panics, rioting or national outrage. An Intellectual Crossover might bring falling stock prices, political disputes or crisis in decision. Cycles work together as our 28-year Physical, 36-year Emotional, and 44-year Intellectual Cycle pass though four stages of development, and points of chaos, to bring change to the nation. The universal pattern is common to all. The combined effect of the Cycles is that they may all be in different stages of development at any given time with a myriad of possible combinations. Once this simple pattern is understood, however, we can see through the complexity of our times to find simple, basic truths. It becomes clear, once you have the Rhythm.

Downward Crossover, 3rd Qtr. Review and 4th Qtr. Alternatives to bring change in the braid of Rhythm.
